General Anti-Harrassment Policy

This Applies Across The Board

It doesn’t matter if you’re in a free live stream or a paid class. I want everyone to feel welcome in my training. Come as you are, so they say. We’re here to learn about SQL Server performance, which is tough enough without people being jerks.

I use the code of conduct stated here, with minor modifications since I only do online training, which I try to keep up to date. If there’s an important applicable update I miss over there, the newer policy wins. The SQL Slack community has their own set of rules, too.

I’ll do my best to address everyone how they prefer to be addressed, and I’ll never get it wrong on purpose. If I mess up, lemme know.

You can call me friend.

The Short Policy

My class is dedicated to providing a harassment-free learning experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Class participants violating these rules may be expelled (that’s Lawyer for kicked out) from the class without a refund at the discretion of me.

The Long Policy

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, I may take any action I deem appropriate, including expulsion from the class with no refund.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a me. I’m in charge over here. If I have anyone helping out with moderation, I’ll introduce them.

I expect participants to follow these rules.
